Dedicated in memory of

Jerry Smyth

When Jerry Smyth (1941-2021) began teaching God's Word to the headhunting Daan people, two men were overheard discussing the message they had just heard. One man asked the other, "Do you believe what he just told Us?" The other man responded, "We had better not NOT believe it!"

Jerry taught the Gospel in these spiritually dark places until the need to evacuate due to his wife Beth's medical conditions. Many years later, the man who encouraged his friend to believe the truth died, and his son wrote a letter to Jerry declaring "My father is in heaven now. Thank you for leading him to Jesus."

Through Jerry's ministry, God has turned darkness into light, but the people of these villages continue to spread the Gospel light to others. Jerry's desire was not only to see people trust Christ, but he also lived to see others carry God's Word to those who still live in spiritual darkness. The burden of Jerry Smyth is in this work, which is dedicated to his memory.
